Dunham Price is committed to providing quality, ready mixed concrete (concrete manufactured and delivered to its customers in an unhardened state). The concreting process is a three way partnership between the ready mix producer, the contractor and the concrete finisher. The ready mix producer is responsible for the manufacturing and delivery of the ready mixed concrete within project specifications. The contractor is responsible for the foundation sub base (properly compacting the ground below the foundation) and for the construction of the foundation, such as properly erecting the forms, proper placement of the reinforcement steel and joints. The contractor is the person in charge of the concrete process at the jobsite. The contractor and the concrete finisher are jointly responsible for the placement, consolidation, finishing, curing and protection of the concrete after placement. The customer must provide suitable access into the jobsite and provide a location to rinse out chutes on a mixer truck. A 28 day curing time is required for concrete to achieve its design strength.
Understanding all of the items mentioned above is vital to the successful outcome of a concrete project. Dunham Price can provide you with a variety of sources and information to assist you in achieving a quality foundation. Our resources include recommendations from the American Concrete Institute. We encourage you to request information on preparing your sub grade, drainage, form work, finishing, and curing from your concrete sales representative or from our main office located at 210 Mike Hooks Road in Westlake, Louisiana.
